Who We Are
The Pap Corps—Champions for Cancer Research
|
Now known as The Pap Corps, Champions for Cancer Research, we have more than 21,0000 volunteers – men and women – organized in over 50 chapters in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami Dade counties in Florida. We support research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, South Florida’s only university-based cancer center- breakthrough research dedicated to finding cures for the countless cancers that affect men, women and children around the world. |
|
We have donated millions of dollars – over 26 million in the last 9 years. We have never lost sight of Our mission: to enable and support vital cancer research programs that someday may lead to a world without cancer.
The Pap Corps has received numerous awards from the University of Miami and other civic organizations for its outstanding community service. In 1957 The Miami Herald award the Corps its first honorable mention for an “Outstanding Service Program in Dade County”. In 1961 the Miami News honored the Corps with a “Community Service Certificate.” From 1990 through 1996, the Corps received the “Organization of the Year” award at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine “Helping Hands” Award Gala.
