Pap Corps Proclamation
The Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade County Boards of Commissioners have proclaimed that May is Cancer Research Month in honor of The Pap Corps.
On Wednesday afternoon, May 4, 2011, Commissioner Steve Abrams presented the framed Proclamation to President Naomi Prever and Executive Vice-President JoAnne Goldberg at the Polo Club in Boca Raton. Other members of The Pap Corps attended the brief ceremony. This is the second year The Pap Corps has been honored by the PBC Commissioners.
We also are very pleased to announce that for the first time the commissioners of both Broward and Dade counties have issued similar proclamations. Those presentations took place on Monday, May 9, in the office of Miami-Dade Commissioner Audrey Edmonson in the morning, and in the Broward County Governmental Center later in the day. These ceremonies were also attended by other Pap Corps members.
The Pap Corps has donated $40 million dollars to groundbreaking research − on ALL types of cancer − since its inception in 1952. We are proud of what we have accomplished and very grateful to the commissioners for their recognition.
